UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb on Friday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across key sectors for the mutual benefit of both nations. Sheikh Mohamed welcomed President Stubb, who is on an official visit to the UAE, at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi and extended his best wishes for Finland’s continued progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed cooperation between the UAE and Finland in priority areas such as trade, economy, education, technology, space, and innovation. They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of shared interest, reaffirming their commitment to supporting peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy.
Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the UAE’s determination to build on the progress achieved in partnership with Finland, particularly in fields that align with both countries’ development goals. He expressed hope that President Stubb’s visit would open new avenues for collaboration, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of UAE-Finland diplomatic relations.
Highlighting the launch of negotiations on a free trade and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and the European Union, Sheikh Mohamed described it as a significant step toward deepening economic ties with Finland.
