
His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, attended the inauguration ceremony of Pope Leo XIV, who succeeded the late Pope Francis, as head of the Catholic Church on Sunday on behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Several heads of state, international leaders, and dignitaries attended the event, which was held in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican in Rome, Italy.
Sheikh Saud informed Pope Leo XIV of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s congratulations on the trust the College of Cardinals in the Vatican bestowed upon him. He wished His Holiness success in promoting peace and harmony, fostering intercultural and humanitarian communication, and fostering stronger ties between peoples and religions.
In addition to supporting cooperative efforts to find solutions to humanitarian and social challenges that benefit all of humanity, Sheikh Saud reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to furthering its humanitarian mission and collaborating with Pope Leo XIV to solidify the values of peace, coexistence, and tolerance globally.
