The UAE Declares Wednesday, February 18, to be the First Day of Ramadan
The UAE’s Holy Month of Ramadan will begin on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, according to a statement from the Presidential Court. The Presidential Court said in a statement that it has confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon of the month of Ramadan based on the ruling of the Moon Sighting Committee for the month of Ramadan, which was issued by the UAE Council for Fatwa for the year 1447 AH. The committee met in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday evening, the 29th of Sha’ban 1447 AH, which corresponds to February 17, 2026.
