The UAE Dispatches a Combined Relief Team to Assist Populations in Afghanistan Hit by the Quake

In accordance with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s orders, a joint relief team made up of representatives from the Joint Operations Command, the UAE Aid Agency, and the Emirates Red Crescent has left the United Arab Emirates for the affected areas in order to provide immediate aid and support to those affected by the disaster.

To improve the efficiency of relief efforts, broaden the scope of response, and provide logistical and humanitarian support to the most impacted areas, the team began conducting field assessments as soon as they arrived, working closely with local authorities and foreign partners. Additionally, the team is helping the victims directly and seeing to their immediate needs.

Additionally, the United Arab Emirates has initiated an urgent air bridge to northern Afghanistan. Four aircraft are transporting a wide range of humanitarian goods, including shelter tents, medical equipment, and necessary relief supplies. To ensure a quick response, bolster relief efforts, assist the injured, and lessen the immediate effects of the disaster on affected families, more goods are being purchased from local markets in Afghanistan in addition to the relief airlift operation.
