In response to unfounded and unfounded charges made by a party to the Sudanese conflict whose hands are smeared with the blood of its own citizens, the UAE has reaffirmed that it is exercising its right of reply.
During the State’s participation in the 61st session of the Human Rights Council, which is now taking place in Geneva, Shahad Matar, the Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva, made this announcement.
This is just the most recent unsuccessful attempt to give a lecture on the rule of law in this hall,” she remarked. This group has repeatedly and consistently undermined any real regional and global attempt to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict and is accused of committing war crimes against its own people.
“With an estimated indifference to the pain of the Sudanese people, this party has committed verified human rights violations and crimes of international humanitarian laws repeatedly obstructing humanitarian access, attacking civilian infrastructure, carrying out summary executions, and sexual and gender-based violence,” she said.
