The United Arab Emirates has reaffirmed its full support for regional and international efforts aimed at achieving an immediate humanitarian truce and a comprehensive ceasefire in Sudan. The goal, it said, is to enable the safe delivery of humanitarian aid to those affected by the conflict and to end the ongoing suffering of civilians since the start of the civil war.
In a statement, the UAE strongly condemned the severe humanitarian violations and horrific crimes committed against civilians in various parts of war-torn Sudan, including the city of El Fasher. The country stressed that targeting civilians, residential areas, and critical facilities represents a grave escalation and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and basic moral principles. It described the atrocities taking place in Sudan as crimes against humanity that require a unified and decisive international response.
The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on all parties involved in the conflict to uphold their obligations to protect civilians and ensure the immediate and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid. The ministry also condemned the exploitation of humanitarian assistance for political or military purposes, describing it as completely unacceptable.
