Trump, who has offered several justifications for beginning the war that killed Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei last Saturday, said he would help rebuild the country’s economy if Tehran chose a new leader that he liked.Trump said on his Truth Social platform, “There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER.”
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said earlier that several countries have launched mediation attempts to resolve the war with the US and Israel, but he emphasized that any negotiations should focus on those who started the war. Some countries have started to try to mediate. Pezeshkian stated in a post on X, “Let’s be clear: we want peace in the region, but we won’t hesitate to defend our country’s honor and sovereignty.
