
ABU DHABI: On Wednesday, Presidents His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates and Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan discussed ways to strengthen their bilateral ties and increase their cooperation, especially in areas of shared interest that promote sustainable development in both countries, such as the economy, investment, food security, renewable energy, and environmental action.
The discussions happened at Sheikh Mohamed’s reception of Ilham Aliyev in Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi during his working visit to the United Arab Emirates. Aliyev’s visit was welcomed by Sheikh Mohamed, who also expressed optimism that it will help further collaboration in ways that benefit both nations and their citizens.
Sheikh Mohamed stated that the UAE and Azerbaijan have a relationship founded on mutual respect and shared interests, noting that the two nations’ ties are continuing to strengthen, particularly in sectors that foster cooperative growth.
Sheikh Mohamed also underlined the significance of communication and cross-cultural interaction, which the UAE and Azerbaijan share. To promote the welfare of the peoples of the Caucasus, Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE’s commitment to fostering ties with Azerbaijan and other development-focused countries.
