In one of the then-viral comments, it stated, “Go on girl, give us nothing. ” The meme implied that the pop diva with a tonne of songs lacked the performance skills to match, which Lipa has subsequently described as painful and degrading.
The way things have evolved. It may be more appropriate to say, “Go girl, give us absolutely everything!” for her Wembley Stadium debut. Atop an S-shaped bridge, the 29-year-old, who is seven months into her Radical Optimism tour supporting her electro-infused third album, orders the audience to quiet with a single flick of her hair, demonstrating her unquestionable stage presence.
Lipa dons a leotard adorned with diamonds as she walks the runway for the first song, “Training Season,” a wish list of characteristics in a loving relationship infused with Abba. A group of men dancers follows respectfully, much like a colony of bees encircling their queen. Now watch that 2018 footage and marvel at the transformation.
