Sam Bahadur’s National Film Awards Win Brings Fatima Sana Shaikh Happiness

At the recently announced 71st National Film Awards, actress Fatima Sana Shaikh is ecstatic as her film “Sam Bahadur” won not one, not two, but three coveted awards. The Meghna Gulzar-directed film won “Best Makeup,” “Best Costume Design,” and “Best Feature Film” at the National Social and Environmental Values Awards. Fatima thanked the crew in honor of the noteworthy accomplishment, stating, “Congratulations to the ‘Sam Bahadur’ team for winning three amazing National Film Awards! It’s a time of honor, indeed.

The actress from “Dangal” went on to express her appreciation for being a part of this fantastic journey by saying, “I’m happy to be in the movie and play Smt. Indira Gandhi. It was an incredible experience for me to work with our director, Meghna Gulzar; it was a dream come true. The film “Sam Bahadur,” which was directed by Meghna Gulzar, tells the inspirational story of Sam Manekshaw, India’s first field marshal. The biographical play featured Fatima as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

With support from Ronnie Screwvala and produced by RSVP Movies, the film featured Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, Sanya Malhotra as Manekshaw’s wife, Silloo Manekshaw, Neeraj Kabi as Jawaharlal Nehru, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Gen.
