Dubai International Airport is set to expand its innovative Red Carpet biometric service to arrivals at Terminal 3 within the next two months, promising an even faster, document-free experience for incoming passengers. This follows the service’s successful rollout for departures, where travellers can clear passport control in as little as 6 seconds, up to 14 seconds, even in groups of up to 10, thanks to real-time biometric data processing.
The Red Carpet corridor stands out as a world-first innovative solution, letting passengers pass through passport control without presenting any documents or stopping, using AI-powered facial recognition and integrated data systems. Dubai Airports’ Chief Operating Officer, Majed Al Joker, emphasized the ongoing effort to reimagine and streamline the passenger journey through advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence that now supports operational efficiency, aircraft management, and real-time decision-making.
Recent record results at Dubai International Airport are credited to a fully integrated operations ecosystem and rising tourism. The airport expects to handle more than 95.2 million passengers by year-end, with substantial December traffic anticipated. Flexible, well-tested plans are in place to manage peak travel surges.
