World Maritime Day Parallel Event 2025 will be Held in the UAE

In Spain, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) represented the United Arab Emirates at the World Maritime Day Parallel Event. The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) organised the event, which attracted the involvement of the global maritime community to emphasise the significance of maritime safety in a time of profound change and emerging threats.

The UAE delegation was led by Hessa Al Malek, advisor to the MoEI’s Minister for Maritime Transport and Affairs. Since the United Arab Emirates will host the 2025 World Maritime Day Parallel Event, she was given the IMO flag.

“We will have the honor of hosting you all for World Maritime Day 2025 next year, with the theme being Our Ocean – Our Obligation – Our Opportunity,” she stated. Since we are dedicated to preserving the ocean and believe it offers numerous opportunities for environmental preservation and economic prosperity, the topic is a natural fit with our mission.

“Oceans are at the heart of the world economy,” Al Malek continued, adding that most international trade is carried out by sea. In addition to being the planet’s most significant carbon sink, they provide millions of employment worldwide. They are home to our priceless marine life since shipping is the most significant industry in the ocean.
