Film is a big part of the Xposure International Photography Festival 2026. There is a whole Cinema program and more film-focused seminars, making it a great place for moving-image storytelling. The festival shows that cinema is a powerful visual language through screenings, talks, and hands-on learning.
The Xposure Cinema program shows documentaries, short films, cartoons, and feature-length films from all over the world. The main themes include human stories, societal memory, cultural identity, environmental awareness, and personal experience.
The screening schedule includes important works like the powerful Portuguese documentary Wilder Côa (Jan.30) and the Sudanese drama Goodbye Julia (Feb.4). It also includes thought-provoking titles like Afrikaner Blood (Jan.30), which looks at identity in South Africa after apartheid, and Heart of Stone (Feb.1), a documentary about a young Afghan refugee’s journey in France.
One of the documentaries that will be shown is Milk Brothers (on February 1), which tells the tale of two men who were born on opposing sides of a political split and have been friends for life. It shows how shared history and emotional ties can last even when people are apart.
