According to a senior official, the US state of Utah is looking for investment from the UAE and other Gulf sovereign wealth funds for its developing nuclear energy, technology, aerospace, and housing sectors. Spencer Cox, the governor of Utah, stated in an interview with the Khaleej Times in Salt Lake City that his administration was eager to strengthen the ties that were established when a Utah business delegation traveled to Dubai and Abu Dhabi almost four years ago, and a delegation from the UAE later returned.

Our trip there was amazing. He said that the digital, aerospace, and drone industries had proven to be fertile ground for “really special common ground” between Utah and the Gulf, saying, “I loved my time in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as well.”

From September 8 to 17, 2022, a trade delegation headed by Governor Cox traveled to Israel and the United Arab Emirates to assist the American state in seizing new chances and establishing commercial connections. Significant economic potential in the region have been made possible by the 2020 Abraham Accords, which restored diplomatic and commercial connections between Israel and the Gulf nations. From their vibrant innovation ecosystems to their proficiency in overcoming well-known obstacles, the UAE and Utah have a lot in common.
