During a week-long campaign around the Kingdom, Saudi Arabian authorities detained 14,440 individuals for labor, residence, and border security offenses, according to the Ministry of Interior. Between July 30 and August 5, 7,090 people were arrested for violating residency laws, 3,932 for violating border security regulations, and 3,418 for violating labour laws.
Twenty-five more people were detained for providing assistance to violators, such as by employing, housing, transporting, or hiding them. According to the ministry, 32,012 individuals—29,995 men and 2,017 women are presently facing proceedings for breaking the rules. Of them, 10,827 were deported, 6,357 were referred to finalise travel arrangements, and 18,131 were referred to their diplomatic offices to get travel documents.
Anyone who helps violators enter Saudi Arabia, transports them within the Kingdom, gives them refuge, or offers any kind of support faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to one million riyals, according to a warning from the Ministry of Interior.
In addition, authorities may publicly identify violators and seize vehicles and premises used to transport or house them. According to the ministry, these offenses are significant felonies that call for an arrest. It asked locals to report infractions by dialing 999 or 996 in other parts of the Kingdom and 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern territories.
