Kuwait authorities ordered the closure of a local Iranian school, a source at the education ministry told AFP on Thursday, after the country came under frequent Iranian attack during the Middle East war.The ministry source did not say why the country’s only Iranian school was being closed, but similar actions were taken in the UAE at the outset of the conflict against schools and a hospital which officials said were tied to the Iranian government.
In the battle, Tehran’s attacks have mostly targeted the Gulf states, with Kuwait and Bahrain particularly affected in recent weeks following the collapse of a US-Iran truce.Last month, repeated attacks on power and desalination plants in Kuwait prompted authorities to encourage citizens to conserve electricity.
The decision, seen by AFP, said: “The decision issued by the Minister of Education to revoke the educational license of the private Iranian school and close it down.”The judgment said that no new admissions will be allowed for the next academic year and appealed to parents to shift their children to other schools.
