The State of Qatar has vehemently denounced recent Iranian missile and drone assaults on Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement released by the Qatar News Agency on Monday that the strikes constituted a grave breach of both nations’ territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
The statement cautioned that the ongoing strikes by the Islamic Republic of Iran constituted a risky escalation that would make de-escalation efforts more difficult and jeopardize diplomatic and political initiatives meant to restore security and stability.
The State of Qatar encouraged all parties to refrain from taking acts that could escalate the conflict and demanded an immediate and total cessation of all military operations and attacks endangering regional stability.
It also demanded adherence to agreements made via diplomatic efforts and a meaningful return to communication and talks. Doha reiterated its complete support for the actions taken by the Kingdom of Jordan and the United Arab Emirates Hashemite to safeguard their security and sovereignty.
