Lieutenant Al Shehhi Ahmed was overcome with pride when he stood on the UAE Burj Khalifa ramp in Dubai wearing his Emirati garb, the kandura. This was more than simply a base leap for the 36-year-old pilot; it was also about representing the United Arab Emirates from the top of the highest building in the world.
For Exit139, a fearless two-day base-jumping competition, 31 elite athletes from more than 15 countries were chosen, including Lt. Al Shehhi, a base jumper, skydiver, and officer of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA). Even though Lt. Al Shehhi had previously skydived in a kandura, this jump held great significance for him.

You serve as our envoy. Additionally, Lt. Al Shehh I made a separate leap while donning his official GDRFA outfit. “I was even more proud to represent my organisation in such a historic event,” he remarked.
His superiors immediately extended their backing when he asked for their consent. The athlete, who did 14 base jumps in two days during Exit139, stated, “They encouraged me, and that made it even more special.
