Significant A400M aircraft components are being sought after by Airbus to be manufactured in the United Arab Emirates. Gabriel Sémelas, President of Airbus in Africa and the Middle East, explained in remarks to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that this strategic move would allow UAE-based companies, such as EPI and Strata, to further integrate into the global aerospace supply chain.
Sémelas described Airbus’s intentions to build a specialized training center and extensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facilities for the A400M, a multipurpose military transport aircraft. It is anticipated that these advancements would strengthen the UAE’s position as a leading regional center for aviation excellence.
He emphasized Airbus’s dedication to developing local talent through focused training and technical support initiatives, as well as strategic research collaborations that promote the development of the UAE’s future sectors.
The development of skills and the creation of jobs are the main pillars of Airbus’s industry localization strategy, he continued, adding that the company will carry out extensive training and technical assistance programs and foster industry partnerships aimed at providing the UAE workforce with state-of-the-art knowledge.
