In his first broadcast statements since an agreement between Iran and Israel to suspend hostilities, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed Thursday that Iran will strike American military sites in the Middle East in retaliation for any future US attack.
After Washington joined the Israeli strikes, the 86-year-old Khamenei declared victory after 12 days of fighting that ended with an Iranian attack on the biggest US facility in the area, which is in Qatar. America was smacked in the face by the Islamic Republic. One of the key American bases in the area was targeted,” Khamenei remarked.
He spoke from an unidentified interior location in front of a brown curtain, between an Iranian flag and a photo of his predecessor Ruhollah Khomeini, just as he had in his previous remarks, which were made public more than a week ago during the Israeli onslaught. Despite appeals from U.S. President Donald Trump, Khamenei insisted that Iran would not surrender in his pre-recorded speech, which was broadcast on state television.
The US President Trump exposed the truth while making it clear that Americans won’t be satisfied with nothing less than surrender… for an event will never happen,” Khamenei stated. It is not a minor occurrence that the Islamic Republic has access to significant American facilities in the area and may strike against them anytime it sees fit.
