Dubai Government Workers are Entitled to Ten Days of Fully Compensated Marital Leave

His Royal Highness In his role as Ruler of Dubai, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum issued Decree No. 31 for 2025, which deals with marital leave for workers of the Government of Dubai.

The directive aims to improve the components of family success and psychological and familial stability while striking a balance between the demands of personal life and work-related responsibilities.

Emirati workers in government agencies and in the authorities overseeing free zones and special development zones, such as the Dubai International Financial Center, are covered by the decree.

Emirati military troops in the emirate and members of the court are also covered. The decree’s area of applicability also include any other categories decided by the Executive Council chairman in this respect.

The employee is entitled to ten working days of fully compensated marital leave, according the decree. According to the decree, the employee can also combine their marital leave with any other leave for which they are eligible under the laws governing their employer’s human resources practices.
