In the Muzaffarnagar region of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, a speeding car collided with a stalled truck parked by the side of the road on Wednesday, killing at least six members of the same family. The catastrophe happened close to the Jaydev Hotel in the vicinity of the Titawi police station on the Panipat-Khatima National Highway.
After a family member recently passed away, the eight victims were traveling from Faridpur, Haryana, to Haridwar to submerge the burial ashes in the Ganga. Tragically, their religious journey came to an end when the car lost control and struck the parked truck at great speed.
The car was ripped apart by the force of the crash, trapping the occupants inside the twisted wreckage. Locals hurried to the area and alerted the authorities right away. Rescue operations were conducted by police with assistance from spectators.
Every casualty was transported to Muzaffarnagar’s district hospital. Upon arrival, doctors pronounced five people deceased. Two people who were seriously hurt were sent to a more advanced medical facility.
