In Five Years, Modi Wants Commerce Between India And Jordan to Reach $5 Billion

According to an official statement released on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jordan paved the way for the signing of five Memorandums of Understanding in the areas of digital solutions, cultural exchange, renewable energy, water resource management, and twinning between Petra and Ellora.

According to the statement, PM Modi and King Abdullah II of Jordan had lengthy talks about how to strengthen bilateral ties in the areas of trade and investment; defense and security; renewable energy; fertilizer and agriculture; innovation, IT and digital technologies; critical minerals; infrastructure; health and pharma; education and capacity; tourism and heritage; and culture and people-to-people ties.

PM Modi claimed to have “addressed the India-Jordan Business Forum” in a tweet. The program was enhanced by the presence of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II. highlighted opportunities to strengthen trade, commercial, and investment ties between Jordan and India.

Over the next five years, the Indian prime minister suggested that the two nations strive to increase bilateral trade to $5 billion. Additionally, he urged cooperation between India’s United Payments Interface (UPI) and Jordan’s digital payment system. Jordan is a significant fertilizer provider to India, and businesses.
