They stayed on the front lines for weeks, providing care when it counted most. They got together again on Saturday night. But this time, it was on a sports field, unified for the unified Arab Emirates, rather than in hospitals.
At Abu Dhabi’s Hudayriyat Island, frontline healthcare workers from Burjeel Holdings, a top super-specialty healthcare provider in the MENA region, set a Guinness World Record for the “Most Nationalities Carrying a Banner” by uniting 64 nationalities in a single coordinated formation. This was a unique tribute that reflected the nation’s spirit of solidarity. It rained during the day. By the evening, however, many had flocked in and remained steadfast in their support of the country.
The project, titled “Our Nation,” took place during the closing ceremony of the Burjeel Games, the Group’s yearly sporting event in association with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. “Our Heartbeat” turned a sporting event into a time for national introspection. The UAE leadership’s appeal to raise the national flag and strengthen togetherness throughout the nation served as inspiration. After the country reinforced its strength in the face of the shift in circumstances, it was organized in less than 48 hours and became the first event in the region to break records.
