A Senior Iranian Official Warns a New Confrontation With the US is Likely

According to state media, Iran sent the revised text to mediator Pakistan on Thursday night, but it did not specify its contents. After a failed round of peace negotiations in Pakistan, the war, which was started by the United States and Israel in late February, has been on halt since April 8.”I’m not happy with what they’re offering right now,” Trump told reporters, attributing the impasse to “tremendous discord” within Iran’s leadership.

Just blast the hell out of them” or “try and make a deal” was the choice he had to make, he continued, adding that he would prefer not to choose the former. A senior member of the Iranian military’s central command, Mohammad Jafar Asadi, declared on Saturday that “a renewed conflict between Iran and the United States is likely.”In statements released by Iran’s Fars news agency, he continued, “Evidence has shown that the United States is not committed to any promises or agreements.”

The ball is in the United States’ court to choose the path of diplomacy or the continuation of a confrontational approach,” Kazem Gharibabadi, the deputy foreign minister, told diplomats in Tehran.
