Through a number of focused awareness campaigns and on-the-ground activities, the Department of Municipalities and Transport’s Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) took part in the 8th United Nations Global Road Safety Week.
The campaign’s main goals this year were to increase pedestrian safety and encourage the emirate to use micro mobility appropriately. Through its involvement, Abu Dhabi Mobility underlines its dedication to promoting road safety through international collaborations and neighbourhood projects.
It also embodies the emirate’s overarching goal of creating a secure, welcoming, and progressive transit environment. To involve important community groups, the program included a variety of on-ground events around Abu Dhabi.
“The initiative reflects the Center’s ongoing efforts to embed safety into daily mobility practices,” said Engineer Abdulla Hamad Al Eryani, Acting Executive Director of the Planning and Strategic Affairs Sector at Abu Dhabi Mobility, in a statement on the occasion.
He pointed out that consistent awareness and careful collaboration with partners and the larger community are necessary for actual effect. Al Eryani continued by saying that consistent, practical involvement and disseminating understandable, relatable safety messages are essential to attaining significant changes in driving behaviour. He emphasised that the necessary parties must coordinate their efforts to guarantee that these initiatives have a long-lasting and quantifiable impact.
