The 21-gun salute at Cairo’s Ittihadiya Palace signalled the beginning of a day of negotiations that are anticipated to address the Middle East conflict and its consequences, including marine commerce security and increasing Chinese investment in the most populous Arab nation.
A number of economic agreements, including ones pertaining to manufacturing, transportation, and artificial intelligence, are anticipated to be signed by the two BRICS members. China’s investments in Egypt are presently estimated to be approximately $10 billion. As the US-Iran confrontation jeopardises international marine trade, Beijing’s significant interests in the Suez Canal Economic Zone are only anticipated to increase. Beijing has also contributed significantly to Sisi’s megaprojects, most notably the New Administrative Capital, located 50 kilometres (30 miles) east of Cairo and funded substantially by Chinese investors.
