Dubai Chambers has emphasized the ongoing development of economic relations between Dubai and India, which is fueled by rising investment and trade flows as well as increased collaboration in industries with an eye toward the future.
During a panel discussion at The Economic Times World Leaders Forum 2026 in New Delhi, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, talked about the strength of bilateral ties. His Excellency Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, was present at the event, which brought together top investors and senior executives from India and throughout the globe.
Lootah disclosed during the session that Dubai’s non-oil trade with India grew by 15% annually to a record Dhs222.5 billion in 2025. India is now Dubai’s second-largest economic partner thanks to a 136.2% increase in bilateral trade over the last ten years, from AED94.2 billion in 2016. He pointed out that, in line with the changing demands of companies in both markets, ties between Dubai and India continue to grow and evolve. Although trade continues to be a major pillar of bilateral relations, collaboration is expanding into future-focused industries like artificial intelligence and the digital economy, which are anticipated to be crucial in the partnership’s next stage.
