
His Highness the President of the United Arab Emirates On Friday, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Masdar City, Abu Dhabi’s Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI).
His Highness was briefed on the academic programs offered, the main areas of research focus, and the resources accessible to students during a tour of the university’s departments and facilities. He was also informed about the university’s collaborations with top international research institutes focused on artificial intelligence.
During His Highness’ visit to the university’s Data Observatory, scientists and academics showcased five AI-powered research initiatives spanning several fields such as energy, climate, medicine, genetics, media, and robotics. Two start-ups from the university’s entrepreneurship hub and incubator also presented their work.
Sheikh Mohamed visited with MBZUAI President Professor Eric Xing and a group of postgraduate students, teachers, and officials. He emphasised the value of expanding knowledge to benefit their countries and communities and urged them to continue their academic endeavours. The president emphasised how important the university is to the UAE’s development plan, which calls for investments in cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence.
He emphasised the importance of developing the nation’s expertise in this crucial area to ensure the sustainability of a knowledge-based economy, with artificial intelligence at its forefront for current and future generations. He added that he hoped the university’s focused AI research and studies will help build a solid scientific foundation.
