Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, and Utrecht Mayor Sharon Dijksma have opened the first Smart Police Station in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, known as “SPS Utrecht.”
This comes after the remarkable success of the Emirati experience with Smart Police Stations, which provide round-the-clock, automated security services.
Rob van Bree, the Dutch National Police’s Chief of Investigations and Special Operations, Jolanda Aalbers, the Operations Director for the Eastern Netherlands and in charge of national police services, and Ali Saeed Al Shehhi, the interim Chargé d’Affaires in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, were also present at the inauguration.
In order to foster mutual interests and strengthen security and stability in both friendly nations, it supports the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai.
The project also complies with Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s directives, the Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, to share knowledge and experiences with different security organisations.
The opening of “SPS Utrecht” signifies the second Smart Police Station concept implemented globally by Dubai Police, after the first Smart Police Station was established in the Republic of Serbia in 2023.
