Nissan Patrol 2025 Review: Despite a Thorough Revamp, the Winning Formula is Still in Place

The Nissan Patrol doesn’t need to be mentioned to anyone in the Middle East. It is as well-known in the area as the dunes it was made to traverse. In a whirlwind of publicity last year, the seventh generation of the Patrol was presented to the world in Abu Dhabi. You rarely see so many VVIPs at one place.

Since Nissan obviously doesn’t want to tinker too much with a winning formula, previous car iterations have occasionally had few significant modifications. But this time, the vehicle has undergone a thorough overhaul.

Although the shape of number seven has lost some of the curvier elements that vaguely evoked London taxis, it is still identifiable as a Patrol from the outside. The overall impact of this new paradigm is more assertive and robust than anything that has come before, albeit it was never quite that way.

Nissan hasn’t made many changes to the Patrol’s dimensions. However, it weighs 2.7 tonnes and measures 5.2 meters in length. A new power train is the primary alteration, as many people are well aware. A 3.6-litre or 3.5-litre twin-turbo, both in V6 style, has replaced the 5.2-litre V8. Although it won’t be particularly apparent on any surface, it looks like there might be a slight decline in the power stakes.
