His Majesty Law No.(5) of 2025, which amends Law No.(1) of 2025 on the restructuring of the police and security services in Sharjah, was issued by Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council. Additionally, he passed Law No. (6) of 2025, which amends Law No. (2) of 2021 concerning military personnel’s human resources in the regulatory authorities of the emirate.
The changes modernise military ranks inside Sharjah’s police, security, and regulatory agencies by eliminating two non-commissioned officer levels. This modification makes it easier for employees to continue in their careers and reach officer ranks. The amendment improves career incentives inside the military framework of the emirate and recognises their service. The following are the new military ranks for Sharjah’s police, security forces, and regulatory body employees as a result of the amendments:
Lieutenant Colonel6, Colonel7, Brigadier8, Major General9, Captain4, Major5, Second Lieutenant2, First Lieutenant, and Lieutenant General 10. In general Non-commissioned Officers: Officer Assistant, Senior Warrant Officer, First Sergeant, Warrant Officer, and Sergeant Recruit, Police Officer, Senior Police Officer, Corporal, and Senior Corporal are the enlisted personnel.
