Results of the 2024 U.S. Elections: “We accept the victory but not the battle,” says Kamala Harris
Donald Trump won by a landslide in the US elections in swing states. Trump has won 295 electoral colleges, surpassing the majority threshold of 270, while his opponent Kamala Harris has gained 226. In 20 years, he will be the second Republican to be elected to a second term. From 2001 to 2009, Republican George W. Bush served as president.
When it comes to swing states, Trump has already taken the lead in Arizona and Nevada and has already won Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Early in the morning, Kamala Harris admitted defeat. Although she has conceded the race, the Democratic leader stated in her statement that she has not conceded “the fight that fuelled this campaign.”
In a speech that lasted less than fifteen minutes, Harris encouraged her supporters to “keep fighting” despite acknowledging that losing was hard.
As long as we never give up and as long as we continue to fight, the flame of America’s promise will always burn bright, she reminded supporters, even though the election’s conclusion is not what we intended, what we fought for, or what we voted for.
After one of the most antagonistic campaigns in contemporary US history, Mr. Trump’s victory was all the more impressive in light of his spectacular criminal conviction, near-miss assassination attempt, and warnings from a former chief of staff that he is a “fascist.
