A massive attempt to smuggle a shipment of the medication Pregabalin, weighing a tonne and 100 kilogrammes, was thwarted, according to a statement released by Dubai Customs. Situated amidst incoming air cargo shipments, the drug was concealed in 40 barrels and identified through sophisticated customs systems.
The incident happened when the shipment was received at the air cargo terminal and customs officials compared the documents with the shipment after reviewing them. The seized material was identified as a controlled drug in the United Arab Emirates, according to analyses conducted after careful monitoring. Notification was sent right away to Dubai Police’s General Department of Anti-Narcotics, and in front of officials from Dubai Customs and Dubai Police, legal action was taken against the suspects.
