Sheikh Mansour Directs the Establishment of a Court Specifically for Crimes Involving Human Trafficking

In his capacity as Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, issued Resolution No. 40 of 2026, creating a special court to decide cases involving human trafficking in Abu Dhabi.

The resolution is a major step in improving legal protection mechanisms and defending human rights and dignity. It is part of ongoing efforts to fortify a specialized judicial system and deliver the highest standards of justice in a timely way.

The new court creates an integrated procedural framework within its organizational structure in accordance with the concept of complete judicial specialization. This includes Courts of First Instance and Courts of Appeal that have jurisdiction over human trafficking crimes, as well as a specialized Public Prosecution tasked with investigating and prosecuting such crimes.

The integrated framework is intended to speed up case resolution and improve the effectiveness of legal processes. The decision stipulates that the court will have jurisdiction over all human trafficking cases that arise inside the emirate of Abu Dhabi in order to fortify the comprehensive protection framework and coordinate efforts.
