Her Majesty, The creation of comprehensive programs and strategic frameworks, are the top priorities facing international humanitarian organisations, according to Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of The Big Heart Foundation, and eminent advocate for refugee children at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). She emphasized the importance of creating assistance programs meant to lessen the complex and long-lasting effects of crises and conflicts on social structures and personal welfare.
While urgent and emergency response programs are crucial, she pointed out that they are insufficient alone. The effects of a single month of pain can last for years and significantly impact the paths taken by entire generations.
Addressing persistent humanitarian emergencies Her Highness emphasised that because of the serious long-term effects on human capacities that are necessary for societal recovery, the absence or insufficiency of healthcare services, education, psychological support, and institutional as well as community care can prove more harmful than the crises themselves. She called on everyone involved in the humanitarian field—individuals, governmental bodies, and private organizations—to increase their preparedness to face the world’s growing and unprecedented challenges.
