The Federal National Council (FNC) underlined that the region’s problems, which include economic and climatic crises, political conflicts and disagreements, and technical complexity, are progressively affecting the present and future.
We must all address these issues by bolstering coordinated Arab parliamentary activity, using parliamentary diplomacy instruments, advocating for peaceful resolutions, and strengthening frameworks for discussion, integration, collaboration, and Arab unity.
At the 38th Conference of the Arab Inter-parliamentary Union (AIPU), which took place in Algiers, Algeria, from May 2–4, 2025, Dr. Tariq Humaid Al Tayer, First Deputy Speaker of the FNC and Chairman of the UAE Parliamentary Division delegation to the AIPU, made this statement on behalf of Federal National Council Speaker Saqr Ghobash.
In order to guarantee the delivery of humanitarian aid, the de-escalation of conflicts, and the protection of civilians in compliance with the regulations of international humanitarian law, the UAE Parliamentary Division emphasised the significance of stepping up parliamentary diplomacy efforts both regionally and globally in collaboration with all partners. According to Dr. Al Tayer, the Palestinian struggle continues to be the most critical concern for Arabs, Muslims, and indeed all of mankind. It is going through a crucial and existential period, dealing with tremendous difficulties and a humanitarian crisis that has never been seen before.
