Reiterating its categorical rejection of any infringement on the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic or threats to its security and stability, the United Arab Emirates has strongly denounced the Israeli attacks, including incursions into Syrian territory in the governorates of Quneitra and Daraa and artillery shelling of the area.
Israel’s continuous incursions into Syrian territory are a blatant breach of international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between Syria and Israel, which Israel is required to preserve, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) emphasized in a statement.
In addition to highlighting sympathy with the Syrian people and support for all initiatives aimed at realizing their objectives for security, peace, dignity, peaceful coexistence, and development, the Ministry reiterated the UAE’s steadfast stance in favor of Syria’s stability and territorial integrity.
The UAE urged the international community to act quickly to put an end to the ongoing strikes on Syrian land, as well as to stop any acts that could increase tensions in the area and jeopardize peace and security both locally and globally.
