The UAE Shows Support for Nepal and Offers Sympathies to the Flood Victims

The Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal’s victims of floods and landslides, which caused substantial damage and dozens of fatalities, injuries, and missing persons, have received support from the United Arab Emirates.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed the UAE’s deepest sympathies and condolences to the relatives of the fatalities, as well as to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal and its citizens, about this tragedy. It also wished all of the injured a quick recovery.

A mudslide in the Tibet region’s Gyirong County near the border killed at least three people and left 265 missing, according to China’s state broadcaster CCTV. Buildings were buried and highways were devastated in drone footage. Significant casualties were reported by the state news agency Xinhua.

Nepal’s steep valleys serve as transport routes and economic lifelines, but they are also vulnerable to natural disasters. Images from the severely damaged Nuwakot district revealed what looked to be the second stories of houses covered in muck after the flood roared by. Stunned survivors were covered in mud, cars were buried, and debris dangled from tree branches and cables.
