Sharjah’s Eateries will Donate 2% of Income to Charity

A home-grown fast-food brand, Street Delights, opened its doors on Sunday on Fire Station Road in Muwaileh, Sharjah with a menu designed around old favourites and a commitment to promote humanitarian activities.

The restaurant has committed in its business model to donate an amount equivalent to 2% of its income to the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation. The international charitable foundation established in Sharjah is working to protect children’s rights from exploitation and promote a safer and more secure future for children.

“The commitment is not a one-time opening campaign, but to make social responsibility a part of the restaurant’s operations,” said Ali Tanveer, creator of Street Delights. Street Delights was born out of a simple belief, that a neighbourhood restaurant can serve food that people genuinely enjoy, and also serve a purpose bigger than itself,” Tanveer added.“Our 2% pledge is designed to be part of the way we do business from now on so that each and every order can have a small part in supporting humanitarian work for children.”

The eatery dishes up smash burgers, spicy crispy chicken burgers, oven fresh pizza, loaded fries, wraps, chicken tenders, mojitos and milkshakes. Street Delights states their idea is based on superior products, consistent preparation and costs designed to stay accessible to the larger population.
