In order to bridge the gap between academic preparation and the realities of working inside a media organization, PublisHer and Motivate Media Group have partnered to create PublisHer Pathways, a four-week immersive internship program.
The agreement, which was signed at the House of Wisdom in Sharjah by Ian Fairservice, Managing Partner & Group Editor-in-Chief of Motivate Media Group, and Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, Founder of PublisHer, will provide a one-year program for five UAE residents per cycle at Motivate’s Dubai offices, with up to two cycles per year.
PublisHer Pathways addresses the problem of linking the academic and professional worlds by putting each cohort inside Motivate’s operations for a month of planned rotations, practical projects, and direct access to senior leadership.
Participants spend a week shadowing a chosen team throughout each rotation, collaborating with employees rather than watching from a distance.
A masterclass with a senior industry leader, a guided tour of the printing press, one-on-one mentoring from a Motivate team member, and a capstone project created by the interns and submitted to Motivate leadership are all included in the program.
