RIYADH: The third international conference of the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, titled “Arabic Language Computing and Linguistic Data Enrichment,” began on Sunday in Riyadh. In addition to scholars from 22 nations, the event attracted participants from local, regional, and worldwide institutions with a focus on computer science, computational linguistics, and Arabic. By bridging knowledge gaps and presenting important initiatives in Arabic language computing, the conference seeks to promote cooperation between linguists and computational professionals.

In order to improve artificial intelligence models and facilitate Arabic language processing, it aims to expand Arabic language datasets. The secretary-general of the academy, Abdullah Al-Washmi, discussed the need to enhance academic practices in the Arab world and offer a forum for talking about opportunities and problems related to the accessibility and quality of linguistic data. Machine learning, speech-to-text translation, automatic text recognition, digital dictionary approaches, linguistic corpus analysis, and the use of computational linguistics to Arabic language learning are among the subjects covered.

According to Imam Mohammad ibn Saud Islamic University associate professor of computational linguistics Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Mahyobi, research would produce more accurate and objective language analysis results. He pointed out that automation produced accurate and validated results by doing away with subjective guesswork.
