In order to propel global growth and propel the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI), positive energy and practical measures are required, according to Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Adnoc Managing Director and Group CEO, Chairman of Masdar, and Executive Chairman of XRG.
Dr. Al Jaber urged stable, long-lasting measures to address the rising need for energy during his speech at CERAWeek in Houston, Texas. “The world is at last realizing that energy is the answer. Energy is essential to all facets of human growth, the lifeblood of economies, and a major force behind wealth. If we want a pro-growth world, we need practical measures and policies that are pro-growth, pro-investment, pro-energy, and pro-people.
According to Dr. Al Jaber, in order to fulfill the rapidly increasing global demand, a “and-and” strategy that incorporates a variety of energy options was necessary. We are aware that there will be nearly nine billion people on the earth by 2035. The demand for oil will rise from 103 to at least 109 million barrels per day in tandem with this expansion. The need for energy will rise from 9,000GW to 15,000GW, a startling 70% increase, while LNG and chemicals will grow by more than 40%. To meet all of this demand, we will require additional LNG, low-carbon oil, nuclear, and economically viable renewable energy sources.
