The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation announced the commencement of “Dubai Archive”, a national project for building an improved system to manage documents and intellectual assets.

The strategic plan complements Dubai’s objective to conserve its history & national heritage while enhancing its preparation of the future. Announced at a press conference held at the Foundation’s offices in Al Jaddaf, the pioneering project aims to contribute to the sustainability of Dubai’s institutional memory, boost government efficiency, and improve digital transformation and knowledge management.

The Dubai Archive is a significant step in the development of document management and archiving systems by adopting international best practices for the preservation of government, semi-government, and historical archives.

The project also contributes to the efficient use of human and technical resources and promotes Dubai’s open data agenda for the sustainability, accessibility and effective management of information.

Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, remarked in a speech during the event: “Dubai Archive is a fundamental shift in the management of documents and knowledge. “The project is not about archiving in the traditional sense but about creating an integrated system that helps Dubai grow its institutional memory and helps with knowledge sustainability.
