The groundbreaking project “Virtual Reality Radar” was inaugurated by Sheikh Salem Bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler’s Office, on Wednesday at GITEX 2024. The event was held at the Sharjah Police Headquarters platform inside the Sharjah Government Pavilion.
Sheikh Saud Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Director of Sharjah Digital Authority and Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Sharjah Government Pavilion at GITEX Global, attended the occasion. He was joined by Sharjah Police Commander-in-Chief Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, as well as a number of Sharjah authorities and other police general managers and directors.
Two creative initiatives developed by a group of talented police officers were displayed by Sharjah Police. “Virtual Reality Radar,” the first initiative, uses artificial intelligence to identify instances of cyberbullying. This technology significantly reduces future instances of cyberbullying and promotes a safe online environment for all users by monitoring infractions and breaches of virtual platform policies, blocking bullying communications, and reporting them. The second project, “Smart Education,” seeks to create a safe online community with the help of the first Emirati virtual family, “Sand and Soun.
