A lady who assisted others in using drugs was given a five-year prison sentence in Dubai. The Dubai Criminal Court found the 30-year-old Dubai resident guilty of giving a male acquaintance unfettered access to two psychotropic chemicals, methamphetamine and amphetamine.
The case began on April 2, 2024, when the Anti-Narcotics Department of Dubai Police received a tip about a man using narcotics in the Satwa neighborhood of Dubai. Additionally, the information revealed that he had drugs. After conducting a comprehensive investigation, investigators verified the accuracy of the information and, on April 3, 2024, received a warrant from the Public Prosecution to detain the suspect, investigate his home, and examine his car.
The suspect was captured by a police squad later that night. The man was taken to the Anti-Narcotics Department to be questioned after being told of the charges against him. Both amphetamine and methamphetamine, which are categorized as controlled psychotropic chemicals under UAE legislation, were found in a urine sample taken from the suspect.
When police searched the man’s home, they found four crystal meth packages. The suspect led them to where the drugs he had obtained from the defendant were located. The woman was already in police detention on a connected narcotics charge, according to the inquiry.
