The Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve creative experiences in residential neighborhoods and public areas while also enhancing Dubai’s visual character. This aligns with the Dubai 2040 Metropolitan Master Plan, which seeks to create a human-centred, sustainable metropolitan development.
The agreement reflects Dubai Culture’s social and cultural obligations to improve the emirate’s standard of living and solidify its standing as a major global hub for culture, a creative incubator, and a flourishing talent marketplace.
The Memorandum of Understanding highlights Dubai Municipality and Dubai Culture’s mutual dedication to fostering greater collaboration, enhancing channels of communication, and sharing best practices and experiences in locating appropriate venues for the exhibition of artwork and artistic installations.
This project will help turn Dubai into an open-air, universally accessible art gallery. In accordance with the city’s beautifying strategy, Dubai Culture will decide how many artworks and installations will be put into place each year within a predetermined timeline.
In the interim, the Dubai Municipality will be in charge of choosing potential exhibition locations and working with public and private organizations to secure the required authorizations and permits for carrying out public art initiatives.
