With 23.4 million visitors in the first quarter of 2025, Dubai International Airport (DXB) continued to grow and solidified its position as the world’s top international airport. The performance demonstrates Dubai’s increasing popularity as a tourism destination worldwide as well as DXB’s ongoing status as the preferred entry point for millions of tourists.
Despite a record-breaking first quarter of 2024, traffic increased 1.5% over the same period the previous year. With 8.5 million visitors in January alone, DXB experienced its highest monthly traffic ever. This accomplishment was made possible by thousands of individuals working together behind the scenes, in addition to the infrastructure.
With three million visitors, India remained the most popular destination for DXB, followed by Saudi Arabia (1.9 million), the United Kingdom (1.5 million), Pakistan (1 million), the United States (804,000), and Germany (738,000). At the city level, London had the most visitors (935,000), followed by New Delhi (564,000), Mumbai (615,000), Riyadh (759,000), and Jeddah (627,000). With double-digit gains in traffic to destinations including the Czech Republic (+30.6%), Vietnam (+28.6%), and Spain (+20.2%), leisure travel also surged during the quarter, driven by a seasonal high at the beginning of the year, the Eid holidays, and spring break.
