Hub71 in Abu Dhabi Draws $130 Million in Initial Funding

With the addition of 21 startups in Cohort 15, Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem, now supports 243 ventures overall. These startups will be admitted into Hub71’s Access program and the specialised ecosystems of Hub71+ Digital Assets and Hub71+ ClimateTech after a stringent selection process. The fact that Cohort 15’s startups have raised a total of $134.9 million in funding shows how successful Hub71 has been in drawing high-potential businesses ready to spearhead technological innovation in all of Abu Dhabi’s priority industries.

Out of more than 1228 applications, cohort 15 consisted of 17 startups that were established in foreign markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Well-known startups that will be a part of Hub71’s Access program include EpiBone, a US-based health technology company that has raised $43 million (Dhs 158 million). In the meantime, NBA legend Rick Fox co-founded Partanna Oasis, a material science company that creates carbon-negative concrete. Partanna Oasis has raised $26 million (Dhs98 million) in funding and is scheduled to join Hub71+ ClimateTech.

“Cohort 15 is abundant with pioneering startups that are positioned to contribute to Abu Dhabi’s innovation ecosystem,” stated Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71. Hub71 is assisting the founders’ journey in Abu Dhabi and speeding their revolutionary impact worldwide by giving the startups access to market reach and investment opportunities.
