Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ganga Expressway on Wednesday at a public event in Hardoi, saying that in this era of technological advancement, the project passing near Maa Ganga will become a “new lifeline” for Uttar Pradesh’s growth. The completion of this Rs 36,230 crore project will be a huge step forward in the country’s development of world-class infrastructure.
According to an official announcement, the Ganga Expressway is a 594-kilometer-long, 6-lane (expandable to 8-lane) access-controlled greenfield high-speed highway that cost around Rs 36,230 crore to build. The expressway connects Uttar Pradesh’s Western, Central, and Eastern areas with a single high-speed corridor, passing through 12 districts: Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj.
PM Modi addressed a large public assembly after inaugurating the Ganga Expressway, saying, “I bow down to this holy land of Lord Narsingh.” Maa Ganga runs nearby, showering her blessings, making this entire region nothing short of a pilgrimage. I feel that Maa Ganga’s blessings have also contributed to the success of expressways in Uttar Pradesh. You may now reach Sangam in only a few hours and seek Baba’s blessings in Kashi.
